Chalk + Blackboard = Art

Think life science research institute and I bet uber gorgeous chalk illustration doesn’t come to mind does it? This is how art can make everything interesting.

VIB is a life sciences research institute in Belgium. For their fifteenth anniversary, their entire event branding was designed using chalk and a huge blackboard. More than 200 large chalk drawings were illustrated and used in 9 books.

The Epica awards, “Europe’s premier creative awards,” were recently handed out. The above campaign, by Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett, Zurich, won the press Epica d’Or. No wonder.
