I love this series of posters designed by Jason Munn. Especially the envelope. I can’t explain it but it’s so lovely! They are so clean and crisp and filled with happy colours.
Milan based freelancer Alberto Seveso has an eye for capturing movement in photographs. Specifically, high speed liquid photography. The Italian photographer also cleverly mixes ink colours, and glossy oil so what you end up with is this mystical image that you can stare at for a very very long time.
I love me some good artistic film. Christian Dior has launched “1000 Lives”, a new Dior Homme film featuring Robert Pattinson. It captures a character so beautiful in hidden moments that feel like memories. It makes me want to spend a weekend with my camera, exploring everything everywhere.
I’m not a huge skateboarding fan, but this story is so real and well documented that it’s an art piece. Gurus in the Ganges is a really interesting skate trip to India featuring Sean Malto, Mark Suciu, Sebo Walker and Nestor Judkins. They travelled to India to witness the largest gathering of human beings ever at the Kumbh Mela festival. Also, just to skateboard :)
It’s easy to make things complicated. Simplifying is the hard part.
I’ve always admired people who have simple ideas – they are often the most interesting because it makes you wonder why you didn’t see it first. Taking that thought and making it speak volumes is Arun Raj; an award-winning graphic designer who is making a name for himself in India. Wordplay is an aptly named and clever typographic series that has to make you smile.
What do people talk about nowadays? At cafes, at dinners. What are we really talking about? Are we gossiping? Are we backbiting? Are we saying what matters most to us to the people who matter the most? Here’s a question about questions: Are we asking the right ones?
The very creative folk at The School Of Life have it all figured out. (By the way, they are the same geniuses who came up with A Minibar for the Mind). They have now created One Hundred Questions you can answer or ask at your next get together with friends. Each card poses a question that is sure to start a meaningful conversation. Topics include:
- Personality & Emotions
- Sex & Relationships
- Family & Friendship
- Work & Money
- Travel, Culture & Taste
- Life & Death
I need to get my hands on this!
I love books. It’s a bit of an obsession really. I only feel relaxed once I know there are books on my very full shelf that I haven’t read yet. It’s comforting. Some book covers just call out to you don’t they? There is so much art involved in a book. From the writing of course to the design of the cover to the font used to best tell the story. Just when you thought books couldn’t get any cooler, Kelli Anderson steps up to the plate and smashes it out of the park.
The 100% paper installation she set up for the New York Public Library is pure art. The detailing and craft is amazingly amazing. Plain paper forms sculptures that look exactly like (if not cooler) than the original book cover.
