Fine Art Redefined

Paris-based artist Jonathan Bréchignac just took the meaning of fine art to a whole new place. He creates super intricate illustrations of carpets covered in detailed patterns using regular ballpoint pens. The pieces are huge so they must take forever to finish. “The Blue Carpet” was done using ultraviolet ink so part of it glows in the dark. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any cooler.

Mini Street Art

I’ve always felt that every part of the street, city, building, country if you will, should be artistic.

Joe Iurato is making that happen one tiny step at a time with little wooden figurines that blend into an urban environment. Can you imagine walking to work and finding one of these little pieces of art? That sounds like a good day in the making to me.

Chomp

I found these Chomp puzzle books designed by Mirim and had to share it. They’re so adorable! The books are designed to teach kids about basic food chains in different environments; Forest, Ocean, Arctic, Jungle, and Desert. Is there a cuter way to educate your kids? No. No there isn’t. I do love how all the wooden animals connect to one another and form their own puzzle – which doubles up as an explanation about how each animal is vital to the food chain process!

Carousel

I stumbled upon Fillipo Marongiu‘s work and it was such a happy little moment. His designs for Carousel, a company that designs and operates casual dining restaurants are just so darned cute! They really make me happy :) A happy Monday to all!

Don’t text, whistle and drive

Paper art amazingness time.

The very talented Ink Studio created this little world that I’d love to discover in miniature size. I think their sketches alone are works of art. But what they did with paper kind of blows my mind. How cute is their message – “Don’t text, whistle and drive instead.”
