Kelli Anderson’s Paperific Installation

I love books. It’s a bit of an obsession really. I only feel relaxed once I know there are books on my very full shelf that I haven’t read yet. It’s comforting.  Some book covers just call out to you don’t they? There is so much art involved in a book. From the writing of course to the design of the cover to the font used to best tell the story.  Just when you thought books couldn’t get any cooler, Kelli Anderson steps up to the plate and smashes it out of the park.

The 100% paper installation she set up for the New York Public Library is pure art. The detailing and craft is amazingly amazing. Plain paper forms sculptures that look exactly like (if not cooler) than the original book cover.

Ducky Wedding Invites

I don’t usually post designs of wedding invites but these are too cute. Designed by Adam Hill, duckies cordially invite you to the wedding of Simon and Simone. The directions and the dress code are my favourite. How nice to receive such fun invitations – just imagine the wedding!

Clouds and rainbows

Gongdreen believes that when everyday objects meet the right design, it can change the cold to warm and the ordinary to special.” That’s a liner from Gongdreen’s site and it really is true. A table filled with fun stationery like this makes every day at work play doesn’t it? Eyeing both the rainbow tape and the silver cloud.

Good design is for good clients

I wish I could stamp this on my client’s foreheads. Or on their briefs. Designed by vbg as a new years compliment to their clients, these stamps read “Good design is for good clients”. So simple and so true.

Molly Jacques

Happy new year everyone! I just want to say thank you all so much for all your kind words and support over the past year. It’s been really fulfilling looking for amazing artists and designs to feature. :)

So here’s the first post of 2013!

Maybe this year I will try to master the art of calligraphy. It’s such a beautiful art form. Molly Jacques‘ work is oh so lovely. I would so frame the one that says soup!

National Hero Registration Form

This adorable National Hero Registration Form is the brainchild of Michael W. Mateyko and Hans B. Thiessen who make up KOMBOH. I love that adults can get excited about these things too – it’s almost more exciting for us than for kids!

Fedigroni Paper Packaging

Designed for Fedrigoni, an Italian paper company who make fine quality special papers, Jonathan Shackleton created this artistic manner of displaying Fedigroni’s paper. I really like how he made the connection of showcasing paper through fashion with an overall end result that oozes crisp high end style.

An Ode to Ampersand

I love the Ampersand symbol in all its varieties and I even have a huge one made out of steel right above my bed! This campaign by smbstudio getting people to use the symbol instead of the word is such a fun and unique idea that I would love to spread far and wide.
