Don’t text, whistle and drive

Paper art amazingness time.

The very talented Ink Studio created this little world that I’d love to discover in miniature size. I think their sketches alone are works of art. But what they did with paper kind of blows my mind. How cute is their message – “Don’t text, whistle and drive instead.”

Electricity in the dark

Ooh, neon paint! Doesn’t that just turn up the volume of your Wednesday? I love this series of glow in the dark portraits by Hid Saib. Flickers of luminescent neon paint turn into works of art on these girls faces. I feel like these are screen shots from a very cool music video.

Walk this World

Walk this World is the first children’s book from the very talented Finnish illustrator and art director, Lotta Nieminen. I can see her Finnish influences in her illustration style so clearly! I could very well get happily lost in her site for hours (which I shall treat myself to after I post this). The book teaches children about cultural similarities and differences of people from around the world. How lovely to learn about the world through Lotta’s beautiful and colourful illustrations! There are over 80 flaps that open and reveal even more gorgeousness. I do love a book with surprise open up flaps!

Candy coloured candles

Time for some pretty packaging people. I want to eat these candles by bella j. Something about the colours makes me think of candy. Hip hip hooray and Tie-dye are my favourites. The delectable designs are by New York based artist Sujean Rim. These lines in her about section kind of just made my day – “As a kid, I loved running around my cement backyard and enjoyed Sundays, when I could read Charles Schulz’s Peanuts in the paper and watch Bugs Bunny all morning with a giant bowl of Cocoa Pebbles. Comics, cartoons and picture books inspired me to draw and want to be an artist. I wanted to be everything from a painter to a sculptor.”
