For the love of Bo

I have some favourite videos and pieces of writing that I always go back to for inspiration. Whether it’s for a new idea or for when my brain just needs some inspiration; a reminder that good writing and emotion still exists in the world. Hoping that some of it will rub off on me and spark my creative neurons.

An all time favourite, is Bo.

It’s simple, but real. Almost like a secret revealed in the form of memory.

Of course, the fact that it’s in French only adds to its charm.

Gurus in the Ganges

I’m not a huge skateboarding fan, but this story is so real and well documented that it’s an art piece. Gurus in the Ganges is a really interesting skate trip to India featuring Sean Malto, Mark Suciu, Sebo Walker and Nestor Judkins. They travelled to India to witness the largest gathering of human beings ever at the Kumbh Mela festival. Also, just to skateboard :)

The Story Behind Keep Calm & Carry On

Unless you’ve been living under a very large rock, you would have seen at least one of the many “Keep Calm & Carry On” posters that have been altered and adapted from the original. But where is the original and how did this phenomenon come about? This message that everyone has in their rooms, offices and bookstores around the world is so relatable and I think that’s the reason it has become what it is today.

This is the story behind the famous red poster.

Draw Your Mind

Of all the TED Talks, my favourite is Sir Ken Robinson’s enlightening talk on Changing the Paradigms of Education, illustrated and animated by the very talented artists at RSA Animate.  Each illustration cleverly links to the next point with quirky and fun drawings. Here are a few random illustrations from other videos by RSA Animate.
